Cambodian Future Teachers Receive Honor Roll Recognition
Through the support of faithful donors like you, we have been sponsoring seven Cambodian students to receive a college education to prepare them to become teachers at the Cambodia Boarding Academy.

The teachers have just completed the first semester of their second year,” the Cambodia Boarding Academy project lead Natalie Howell shared. “Time is really going by fast. It hasn’t been without its challenges, but God has been faithful through it all.”
The property for the future Cambodia Boarding Academy. Since there are more Adventist students than slots at existing schools, this school will give opportunities to young people who often face the trial of choosing to keep the Sabbath or finish their education. We hope to train students not only for future life, but future ministry.
When the Cambodian students first joined the teacher training program, they spoke little English and attended a local Cambodian college. Because of Sabbath issues, it was decided to send them to an Adventist school. Since there are no Cambodian Adventist colleges, they spent many months studying English in preparation. They attended the SEA SALT Bible school in Malaysia, which gave them an English immersion experience and spiritual revitalization before starting school in the Philippines. One training program member decided to delay her education to serve as a Bible Worker in Malaysia after finishing her Bible school courses.
“At the beginning of this school year,” Natalie shared, “[the students] got recognized for being on the honor roll for last school year, which is a tremendous blessing. We continue to praise God for His leading and His guidance in their education. The journey ahead isn’t easy, but we will continue trusting God to help them with their studies. Please pray that they will be able to understand the language and their classes. Please also pray that their relationship with God will continue to grow stronger and stronger each day.”
While the Cambodian students are preparing for their future roles as teachers, Natalie is studying the Khmer language so that she can communicate with other locals working on the school project, future students, and their families. Our plan is for the Cambodia boarding academy to hold classes primarily in Khmer to reach the people in their heart language.
“[My studies are] progressing well,” Natalie said. “I see God’s hands in helping me understand the language a little more. I started having short conversations with maintenance workers in the building. It’s been a blessing being able to laugh and talk with them. Please continue to pray for me as I continue my studies.”
As you pray for these students, please consider supporting their education so they can help bring a brighter future to the youth of Cambodia.
