New Opportunities; The First SDA High School in Tripura

Tripura, India

Updated May 11, 2021

Tripura is a small state in North East India with about 4.1 million residents, 84% of which are Hindu. The Tripura Region has only six established churches and about 3,800 members. Despite their small numbers, the church leadership and members in Tripura want to do all they can to share the Gospel with their people.

God has placed a dream in the heart of Gabriel, a young man who will be graduating from Spicer Adventist University in June, to help the church in Tripura to build and start the first SDA high school in their state. He shared with us the concern the lay people have for reaching out into their communities and providing their children an education without breaking the Sabbath. With the new school, not only will they be able to help their own children, but children in nearby villages as well.

Eventually, the church leadership would also like to use the space as a training center for Bible Workers.Church leaders have been searching for land, and have found a 4-acre plot near several large villages for around $6,000 USD, which is quite inexpensive for India. After the land is purchased, they plan to build the school complex little by little as God provides the necessary funds. We are so excited at this opportunity God has given to help boost the spread of the Gospel in Tripura. We have experienced again and again how God uses education to reach not just children, but the families of those who attend. Please join us in praying that He will bring together all the details for this project according to His will.If God impresses you to support this project financially, please click the button below.
