MISSIONS THAT THE TENGKANOS ARE INVOLVED IN…

  • Aviation for Indonesia

Airplanes are the best way to make the small Gospel workforce effective in covering and managing the work in large areas covered in mountains and forests.

  • Community Outreach for Indonesia

The Tengkanos’ property in the country is near a poor village. They have been reaching out to the villagers in various ways to provide assistance and build meaningful relationships with them. Some avenues they have used to do this are offering free health and dental care and opening a barbershop. They are also planning to start a music school to teach young people a type of traditional Indonesian instrument.

  • Health Retreat for Indonesia

Many of their people began asking them why they chose their new way of living and how they were doing so well, especially as a family, when this world was in chaos. These questions inspired the Tengkanos to create a health retreat center on their property in the country. At the center, people from the city could come to rest or exercise in nature, learn more about health, and learn how to find the purpose and meaning in life that the Tengkanos have found.

  • Satellite Television Over Indonesia

Indonesia is a collection of islands. 17,508 islands to be exact. How will the Gospel go to all those people disconnected by miles of open ocean? Satellite is the best way as it covers all the islands in the…

  • FaithCamp

FaithCamp is where the Great Commission is embraced and encouraged. It is where you can hear the experiences of missionaries and mission advocates, and get inspired to be involved in God’s work; it is a…

WHAT BROUGHT THE TENGKANOS TO THE MISSION FIELD?

Ramon and Shandy Tengkano sold everything they had to build a TV studio and satellite uplink station to broadcast the Three Angels’ Messages to all of Indonesia and Malaysia! They are passionate about the Spirit of Prophecy and advocate the benefits of a simple, healthy lifestyle. And they should know the benefits!

Ramon and Shandy Tengkano had it all, everything you could hope for in this world. But there was a void in their life, full of things but spiritually empty. Though Ramon had grown up in the church, he never really grasped Christ. He and his wife, Shandy, prayed that God would reveal Himself to them. During this time, Ramon read Jesus’ parable of the man who found a treasure in a field, sold everything he had, and purchased that field. The story confused Ramon, who asked the Lord to prove this story in his own life. God, in His love, revealed Himself to them, and He has done so even more since they embraced a life of service to others.

God got Ramon and Shandy into mission service through FaithCamp Indonesia in 2011. There, God got ahold of Shandy’s heart, and they were challenged to do something about the great need for satellite ministry in their country. Ramon and Shandy followed the path of the man in the parable to share the treasure they had found in Christ through Satellite TV. Now, they live week-to-week by faith – praying and clinging to God’s promises to provide. They used to be rich in this world’s goods, but now they are rich in God – and rich in joy.

In addition to satellite ministry, God has inspired the Tengkanos to reach out to others in their community and country in three main areas:

  1. Ministry to their local village through free services like a dental clinic and barber shop.

  2. Ministry to city-dwellers in Jakarta (including former friends) through health outreach and a center of influence.

  3. Ministry to Indonesia through aviation (this project is just beginning and needs much prayer!)

SHARE these amazing outreach opportunities with friends and family.
