Mission Project - Charlene Opperman
Charlene is teaching at the Adventist International School Siem Reap in Cambodia with Tim and Wendy Maddocks of SALT Ministries and volunteering at Butterfly Paradise.
A light went on in Charlene’s soul when Tim Maddox from Salt Ministries in Cambodia told her about the tasks that she would be doing at their ministry.
“One of your tasks will be teaching some of the high school children at our school to be medical missionaries,” Tim told her. “These answered prayers are like a pot of gold,” Charlene thought.
Organizing events, one of Charlene’s favorite pastimes, is also part of the package. But God had more wonderful surprises for her. Someone was needed for the marketing of Butterfly Paradise, a witnessing tool and financial support for Salt Ministries. “Oh,” Charlene thought, “would I be able to do that? I have never done that before.” But as the saying goes, “God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called.”
Please keep Charlene in your prayers as she prepares to go back to the mission field, where she knows that she will see miracles and wonders and Bible verses like Job 5: 8,9 will come alive to her.
