WHAT BROUGHT THE MADDOCKS TO THE MISSION FIELD?

In 1984, while finishing university, Wendy and I were reading mission story books for our evening worships. God used those stories to plant in our hearts a desire for missions in a foreign country. We made a commitment to God to go anywhere and do anything for any length of time. January 1985 found us at our first mission post in Western Samoa as teacher/ agriculturalist and school nurse. Three years later, we moved to Fiji, again teaching and doing agriculture, with Wendy as an assistant school nurse and getting into motherhood. Four years later, God moved us to Cambodia to work with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) as director of a rice improvement project and a church plant in the town of Siem Reap. Toward the end of the ADRA project, God called us to full-time faith-based ministry here in Siem Reap. Cambodia has now been home for 31 years. After 38 years of mission service, there is nothing else we would want to do.

Our current faith-based mission responsibilities include training lay people to be evangelists and running two schools, an orphanage, a media center, and a butterfly garden. In addition, Tim serves as District Pastor for Siem Reap Province, overseeing 16 church groups.
