WHAT BROUGHT GAYLE TO THE MISSION FIELD?
The most traumatic event of my life occurred on Christmas Day, 2008. You can read about it on my web page: gayle.jesus4asia.org
God knows how to put the pieces of your life back together when you give it all to Him, and from your heartbreak and brokenness, He makes something beautiful that will give life to the world!
Shortly after this, I got a call from my friend asking me to go to Thailand for 3 months and relieve some missionaries who were going to take a furlough to America. I thought the timing was wrong. I was at the worst stage of my life, but I prayed about it, and God told me to ask Him for the money if He wanted me to go! I did, and the next day my friend called me and said they had the money for my boys and I to fly round trip, plus our visas and a box of medical supplies! Oh Lord, send me!
MY CURRENT WORK
As you can see, I never returned to live in America! I lost everything I had, but I gained so much more! To be used by God and passionately love Him beyond the closest ties on earth is a joy beyond words. We have been working with the Karen people group in a primitive jungle village called “BeYoTa,” deep in the mountains of North-West Thailand for 13 years now. I am a nurse and have a small clinic where I have treated patients from over 110 villages! I have a chance to pray with them and introduce them to God! We also travel to treat patients in other villages and struggle against all odds with incredibly bad roads, poisonous snakes, wild elephants that charge and kill people from time to time - etc.
However, the medical work builds a bridge to people’s hearts and then they want to know the God we worship. Our little church has grown, by God's amazing grace, from 5 people attending church 13 years ago, to 50-60 presently as we preach and teach the goodness of God!
