Ric and Jane, with their 4 children, are getting ready to launch to Southeast Asia with the vision of entering a city and province in which there is currently no Adventist presence. No believer, no missionary, no church. With their backgrounds…
WHAT BROUGHT THE ESPAÑAS TO THE MISSION FIELD?
We are the España family (Ric & Jane, Isabelle, Lilyana, Lucas, and Francesca). At FaithCamp*, God opened our eyes and hearts to the enormous neglected spiritual need in Southeast Asia. We have had such powerful experiences with God that we cannot keep quiet or stay in the US (where Christian influence is abundant) when, in Southeast Asia, over half of the world is dying without having heard the name of Jesus.
We asked ourselves, “What are we doing for their salvation? Are we willing to surrender everything and go wherever God calls us?” We realized that these precious people are not strangers; they are our family! God helped us to count His riches greater than those of this world. God helped us let go of our "riches” and follow the call to “Go," arriving in Thailand in April ‘23. We are committed to a lifetime of service to God wherever He leads us. Every member of our family is a missionary, and it is beautiful to see our children reach the hearts of the Thai!
As a family, we are currently learning Thai and developing other talents, such as music and Thai cooking, that would further God’s love. The main focus of our work is to bring the presence of the Holy Spirit, to demonstrate God’s unconditional love, and to inspire the Thai people to be missionaries. For us, evangelism is a lifestyle, not a project or activity. Our outreach includes:
PRAYER! Prayer is our greatest work. As a family, we gather to pray several times a day at home or on prayer walks. We also pray with people who are struggling, especially with suicide, marriage problems, and health issues.
COMMUNITY: Spending time with people, making food for them, inviting them to our home.
LITERATURE: Writing and printing (there is so little literature here).
HEALTH: Helping people heal from ulcers, digestion issues, disabilities, women’s health issues.
We were not certain how God would use us here, and it has been amazing how God has led very sick people to us to help them find His healing power! God is answering prayers and working mightily in many lives!
